DREAM IT! DO IT! DANIGIRL! STAND UP FOR GLOBAL LITERACY....;)
My first book, I Dance A Simple Handbook for STARTING a Successful Dance Career, came about after observing how many Dancer Artists were not in the know of how to actually OWN their career, their Journey, and tend to forget their purpose of why they DANCE, "the hidden language of the soul," as Martha Graham would put it. Understanding that just journeying through getting lots of jobs but not progressing in life and building a firm foundation even in-between tours and travel, clearly, had once came by my door step as I grew up and figured I do want to FLY, but not having a foundation to come home too...Well, hmmm. I'd rather be in a position to Always fly on Purpose when needed. Therefore that was the birth of the book in 2009 and Time Flies;-)
Now, as Time and Growth arrived more births of book writing on different levels, meaning having written Children's books with the hopes of landing a Children's publisher knocking down my door. However, not because of some Fame Monster that glows in the dark and sparkles fluff that disappears as soon as you touch it. But actually as a Teacher by Day, (that's my Clark Gable) and Super Talented Hero at night role;) Ha! I thought that was funny.......I found it ironic that today's Youth, just like in the past during Dr. Suess's time, still lack getting their Dream it! Do it! on, and not from living a life's circumstances. I'm talking about LITERACY folks.
Reality check: Kids don't live a life of bills yet, and a "Life of Bliss" which a child should have, has a lot to do with being able to effectively use your imagination and communicate ideas securely, unless you are just shy child. Basically, I believe their lack of confidence is because, there is a lack of literacy skills. You see, to me, basic literacy enables one to communicate their thinking, their skills, and OWN their Dream It! Do it! No literacy, No skills to be developed;-) There's go your shot at Greatness! And in the words of the Musical "Hamilton," which I'm too tall to dance in;-), "I'm not gonna throw away my Shot!";)
STAND UP!
This is why Dream it! Do it! Danigirl! Is taking a powerful Stand up for Global Literacy;). There is so much ground work done on a child self value and self worth, in terms of using their imagination, instead of hearing the constant, "I don't know," as an excuse to not think about what you actually have in between those two little ears, lies in those early years of LITERACY. In fact, My mom used to tell her students when teaching, "Read while your baby is in your stomach, and it will grow up to be intelligent."
Every Great Poet, Artist, Songwriter and Motivational Speaker can tell you about the rewards of LITERACY. Crafting your Language and finding your voice starts in LITERACY. Consequently, those that don't get those LITERACY skills grow to be left living with options picked by others, ironically, choices made beneath their best gifts anyway. LITERACY grows confidence in your thinking, your self worth, and therefore teaches us how to speak up and Stand Up for what is right in our lives correctly. So please join me stand up with me for GLOBAL LITERACY!
Simple task: Pass your works, my works, and teach a child how to read and write so they can one day grow up and believe in themselves to write their OWN script and Dream it! Do it! Danigirl!

Since I am the proactive, Self Starter, I did write a book about Starting before;-). HA!
I am sharing my first Children's Book, "Swimming Over Castles" here. I spoke it in a Talk back Speech I gave for ToastMaster's International. This process was completely organic and authentic. Let me explain, jut incase there is a book waiting to be birthed in you. It was not in a class for writing. I truly had a dream about swimming in the Medeteranian with friends and found a underwater kindgom. When the water cleared out and we walked through the castle, rocks began to be thrown at everyone but me. So everyone said, "This Castle is Haunted,". Which then I found a young freckled face red head boy, looking like Prince Harry at 10, giving me the SH! Finger and showing me that he was throwing the rocks. I had the dream twice, and a friend told me I should write a book. I didn't listen to her at first, but the second time I instantly woke up at 3 am and wrote the poem structure, like story in 15 minutes. You see sometimes it flows like that, and sometimes you find your flow in a creative writing class like the "ARTIST WAY," way, which In love to do. Last but not least, sometimes it's just your story that make someone else smile again and again and Again, so write it;-).

The next week healthy but good foods and vegetables, and is dedicated to First Lady Michelle Obama for all of her gardening of health, fitness, and quality Life and Grace that she gave to so many schools and communities. It's a funny book too!;)
