Ms. DANIELLE HOBBS, AKA DANIGIRL, is ever gracious to launch, the Dream it! Do it! Danigirl! Movement and Products, allowing her to do her part in making this world a better place.
The SHero-story of Dream it! Do it! DANIGIRL! Truly started about ten years ago. While Ms. Hobbs was pursuing showbiz endeavors, she also would work with empowering students and their self-esteem through her Dream it! Do it! After school Dance/Acting programs.
Administrators in Southern California School Districts would schedule Ms.Danigirl to come teach their students. Then a day came, when one principle hired Ms.Danigirl for a different sort of assignment. She asked her to teach her, "Honor Roll," students in a program designed to empowered their self esteem. She saw that although their grades were high, their self esteem and passion for living a well rounded life was never introduced to these students. The students were smart but shy, intelligent but insecure, and some suffered from child obesity. So, the principle asked her to come bring the arts to her students and liven them up a bit. When the assignment was done, not only were the students "Bright, Passionate, and Intelligent," but their parents raved too, thanking Ms. Danigirl for such a unique result. For not only did she raise their self-esteem, she some how managed to raise reading scores and other academia. Parents were taken by the fact, announcing how their child would come home with pure enthusiasm, "I have to read aloud the commercial print work Ms. Danigirl gave me for 20 minutes!" Before they even wanted to eat, play a video game, and do their homework.
Now, when I first heard this, I didn't truly see the positive influence I had, but I understood I did do my job in empowering those children. I also understood it might be a bit exciting for a child to have an actual copy of let's say a "That's So Raven," tv show script. Anytime you put a product in a child's hands of a person or tv show that they admire, more then likely, you will seal a gap between what is a dream in their mind and what is actually reality. Sort of like being visited by Michael Jordon, and you are a child dreaming to be a basketball star. That was the beginning of Ms. Danielle Hobbs' Dream IT! DO iT! DANIGIRL! Movement..............What sealed this journey, was truly the experience later the same year. Ms. Danigirl was babysitting a friends daughter that was African American, with some Bi-cultural Mexican decent. Her play lil sister, as she would call her, came home from a slumber party with a blonde haired blue eyed doll. When asked about her new doll, and slumber party experience, she went on to speak about being at the toy store, and being asked to pick a doll that looked like them...........BRAKES!!!!!!!!!!!! Clearly, this was an interesting story............For when she was politely implied that she did not look like the doll she picked, she quickly replied, "I know, but all the Black dolls, were ugly."
So then, I quickly replied, "Well, then I will have to create a doll for you, that is beautiful." So, that was the birth of Dream it! Do it! DANIGIRL!
