There, I said it, "SPRING FORWARD RESET!!! Step out of the past into your NEW THING, "AMETHYST GIRL DESTINY!!" Step out of the past that is holding you back. What a beautiful firm realization to take on SPRING TIME! RISE AND SHINE! Through Daylight savings, Covid19 vaccines, and upcoming Graduations, to college and scholarships, and ALL around promoting yourself on NEW LEVELS. I thought it would feel good, and it does, but WOW! Almost scary, but I guess that is because I've always picked goals and dreams that scare me a bit, or I won't do my very best.;)
How many times have we done something NEW and IMPROVED, MIRACULOUS even only to be given some humble pie of how much more we have to go, and start back to growth mindset, process, consistency, results, UGH. and then find out the only thing missing is CONTENTMENT;). OH HOW I LOVE CONTENTMENT when I have achieved, but never did I ask God for it when I'm in the process of Becoming a better Triple Threat Performer, Educator, Entrepreneur.
That is why, whenever I take on a new project, I will go to my past, to evaluate how far I have come, and how I have always been made of Greatness. HOWEVER, DON'T GET STUCK THERE!!!!!!!;)
Remember Scripture: God Says, "Don't you see it, I am doing A NEW THANG in you.";)
Let's take my story: I was going to call this blog, "Danigirl Taught Beyonce and now she teaches education, writes children's books, and produced her own short film and did the soundtrack."
Being that the Royalty of today's Music Industry is Beyonce and JAY-Z, The CARTERS truly, they are like the OSSIE and RUBY DAVIS of the Music Industry, its gets really easy to go down memory lane to feel my good vibes bucket up. I usually remind myself of how many solos I created for the Super Nova, two(Baby Boy, and De Ja Vu) how many music shows did I assist in opening and Blueprinting to make it Spectacular experience for fans 4 or 5, All MTV music Award shows, BET Awards, Grammys, World Music Awards, 2018/19 Coachella, and VEGAS even played my choreography on the WYNN/ENCORE casino for the I AM YOURS VEGAS event. Which is when I made the AUGUST 2-4 event my deadline to have self published my Dance Book done and ready, that I dedicated to her and the LEAD Choreographer, Frank Gaston. I even got to Choreography on Shakira, for the Hit, "Beautiful Liar," and boy was that a treat. However, through the losing friends, blood, sweat and tears of being of service for a Super Star, and trust there are always some hurdles to jump on every assignment. I still have to always remember to come back to the present and not to stay back there. You see it is always nice to remember great works of the past and use them to get you pumped up with new projects, however what I realize is, if I get stuck in the past I often get stuck in the mud.
Here is what I mean:
You see, everyone knows that you have to take the good with the bad, and although I do get proud of myself and accomplishments, I am always met with the realization of, "That was 10 to 13years ago so I should let it go" and then the enemy tries to play tricks on me as to make me feel like I don't matter or have any value because I'm not there NOW. WAIT A MINUTE: No, I'm not there now, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to let the enemy steal my joy from actually accomplishing it,
What I am trying to say is,
IT is so important to not trick yourself into thinking that your Greatness did not stop at your past accomplishments.
BIG BREAK! NEVER DO THAT TO YOURSELF! But how many times do we ACCIDENTALLY do that. Think about something great, a difference we made in someone's life at that time of their life, and then at the last minute, we get that negative thought, OH but that person lied to you, or they have gone on with their life without you, and left you behind. It's like something so special and then here comes the enemy stealing your power and joy of it all.
Personally, you should never look for anyone but God to approve you, but sometimes we get stuck in the celebration of others, especially stars and celebrities we've worked with, to want to get some type of "kudos, or I see you, do your thang girl from past successes." You want to WIN with them, too. And WHY SHOULDN'T YOU.;). THAT IS NORMAL! Greatness knows Greatness!!!!
Well here is the HAPPY PILL of REALITY: THAT NEVER HAPPENS!!! and THAT IS GOOD! The reason why is because your GREATNESS NEVER STARTED WITH THAT PERSON, and IT DIDN'T END with them either. The only approval you will ever need to move and continue to do great things is and always will be is from GOD. YOUR GOD GIVEN GIFTS! The World will never approve of you. But the good news is, you can always use what God has done for you before, and Trust that He will do it again.
IT's exactly like what scripture says, "Don't you see it, I am doing a new thing."
This is the psychology I used for my New Short Film, "Amethyst Girl Destiny." To do something you have never done before gets scary. To lift my spirits during the process I rehearsed many successes I have had in the past. I even take in and listen to the people that have inspired me and came before me to complete the film in the first place. I even envision producers and production companies, like Michelle OBAMA, I'd like to work with using my film as a door opener.
NOW, it is finished. My first film, that I created, wrote, produced and starred in. It's a Dance film, It's a fun film, and just like my Blog before, It's a film about accepting your gifts, and allowing God to use them and be a Gift for others to make a powerful difference..
I am very proud to also have done the soundtrack of past songs written and produced with my cousin, Andre Carpenter, Cutty Dre.
And GUESS WHAT, It isn't with super stars and celebrities yet, vetting for me and helping me kick in doors.
GUESS WHAT It's ok!!!! I'm glad I made it, without going to film school, and all because I must have done something right,;)
I found some GOOD OLE FOLKS of a production company, "Holla at cha Boy productions," director Reggie Gaskins, and a Full of Life and Life Visioning producing partner, Folake Kehinde.
Just like the Scripture says: Don't you see it, I am doing a new thing.
Let God that new thing in you.
So now, not only did I get out the mud of staying stuck in my past, I did it by SPRINGING FORWARD! and Resetting my Dream iT! DO it! Danigirl! ROCKET! through completing my first film project. Therefore, TRUTH, you don't have to wait for anyone to approve you, or make moves only when resources are provided. In the words of TD JAKES,"IF GOD GAVE you the VISION, HE will FUND YOUR VISION." - He will bring the people to you, and they will like working with you and your vision, even during a pandemic.
So this spring, EnJoy your journey and I pray for you to find CONTENTMENT, for it is true and I am still joyously finding out,
"YOUR LATTER DAYS WILL BE GREATER THAN YOUR PAST."
